Clearer Aquarium Water Starts With One Small Cube
That cloudy, yellow water hides the fish you set the tank up for.
It can smell, too.
ClearCurrent is a filter cube with activated carbon inside.
Open honeycomb channels pull in dissolved waste, while the outer layer catches the bigger stuff first.
That outer layer is what keeps the block from clogging so fast. Drop it in, and it starts working.
Measures 10 x 10 cm — a cube, not a sheet you have to cut down.
A simple filter cube for clearer-looking water
✓ Stop staring at cloudy, yellow water
Activated carbon pulls dissolved waste and tannins out of the water, so your fish are the thing you see — not the haze in front of them.
✓ Water you actually want to look at
That damp, organic odor comes from waste sitting in the water. Carbon holds onto it instead of letting it drift into the room.
✓ Two layers, zero clogs
Most blocks load up at the surface and choke off your flow. The outer layer here catches larger debris first, so the honeycomb channels inside stay open and working.
✓ A 30 second fix, not a chore
Hold it under the tap, squeeze, put it back. It takes about a minute and saves you pulling the whole filter apart.
✓ Standard size, standard chamber
It won't flatten or collapse in the filter chamber the way loose media bags do, so water keeps moving through it instead of around it.

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit my filter?
The cube measures 10 x 10 cm. Check the open space in your filter chamber or sump before ordering. It sits in the flow path — it does not need to seal the chamber.
How soon will the water look clearer?
Carbon works on dissolved color and odor, so a yellow tint usually fades first. Cloudiness from algae, overfeeding, or a new tank cycle has a different cause and needs a water change or a feeding adjustment too.
How often do I rinse it?
Rinse it when you notice flow slowing down, or during your normal filter cleaning. Use tank water or dechlorinated tap water.
Is it safe with shrimp and sensitive fish?
Activated carbon is a standard, inert aquarium medium. Rinse the cube before first use to clear any loose carbon dust.
How to use
- Rinse the cube under running water for about 30 seconds to flush out loose carbon dust.
- Place it in your filter chamber, sump, or flow path where water passes through it rather than around it.
- Squeeze and rinse it during your regular filter maintenance to keep the channels open.
- Replace the cube once rinsing no longer restores flow, or once odor and discoloration return.
